Or, should I say, everyone has their own "shit show" going on?
Okay, this has been on my mind for the past few days, so I thought I would write a STELLAR blog post about it. LOL. And, no, it really has nothing to do with Food, Fashion, Decor, or Travel BUT I am drinking an amazing cup of coffee as I write this, so THERE YOU GO!
I will be the first to admit that I am one put together - because that is the Fit4Janine style - "hot mess," and I am not afraid to say that open and honestly. It has not been until, recently, where I have, finally, just said "this is who I fucking am;" take it or leave it. Too much of my life has been consumed with how things look, appear, and what people think. Hey, think all you want about me; in fact, I am quite flattered that you are even giving me that much thought!
One of the biggest ways that I have overcome this has, actually, been building a business and brand via social media. An audience wants to see authenticity and vulnerability - the "everything is perfect" bullshit does not get past many people. Me included. Although, I have been told that I give off a very different impression at first meeting. It comes down to still being extremely guarded, and, a defense as to not get hurt or betrayed again. Trust me when I say I am working on it.
For everything I have been through in my life, thus far, I have, definitely, come out on the other side with having more compassion, empathy, and understanding from where people have come from, what they are going through, and seeing their shit show for what it is - LIFE!
Nothing is perfect, and things can be (and get) super complicated, but it is how you handle it, and rise above it, at the end of the day that matters.
It's your gut & your heart telling you that, no matter what "hot mess" you get involved with - personally or professionally - just navigate it with a level head, be understanding, open to possibilities, and just continue to trust the process.
Because WE ALL have our "stuff," right?
