"This Picture Shows Your Real Beauty"

"This Picture Shows Your Real Beauty"

Happy Wednesday you amazing human! How are you doing? Have I mentioned, recently, that I am OVER THIS? My hair, nails, some other TMI items, etc. are really getting to me! I would not have any "issues" with staying at home if I felt better!

And, let me tell you, working out in a dark basement is not helping with the overall mood! Just saying! Yes, extremely grateful to have a treadmill, weight bench, weights, kettlebells, bands, etc., but I need bright! I need social interaction! I need a change!

Earlier this evening, I posted THIS selfie of me in my kitchen on Facebook; messy, post workout hair, tee shirt, and chilling with a cocktail.

And I received the comment "this picture shows your real beauty." Mind you, I have quite the array of followers on Facebook, especially from the male population BUT it did get me thinking.

There needs to be more pictures like THIS that are put out there for the world. Oh, and I am saying this from a personal standpoint. I always said that I never wanted to be one of those individuals who looked so different when the makeup comes off.

This is WHY I am such an advocate for non-makeup wearing days off! Oh, and remember I am a bit of a freak about my skin too. 90% of the guys I have encountered, hands down, prefer a non-made up face. Mind you, I think I made up look is just fine for pictures, date nights, parties, events, galas, etc.

BUT being in the raw, and showing your authentic self is a whole lot sexier than having layers of makeup on to go to the gym, the grocery store, to watch TV, work on your computer, etc. Yeah, you know who I am talking about. There is a security by being completely bare; a "this is who I am; take it or leave it."

It's been a refreshing change of pace over the last 6 weeks of being sheltered in place. Yes, I so miss getting dressed up for pictures BUT I have given my skin a chance to breathe and reminding myself "this is who I am!"

So, although said Facebook comments can be a little stalkerish, creepy, and downright not appropriate for social media (or anytime), I will take these comments as check-ins for myself!

Here's to it being (almost) the end of April! Cheers to "wining down" and living your BEST "fresh face" life!

xoxo
