Thirsty Thursday: I Will Take Mine Spicy Please!

WAIT, should I be hash-tagging this much on my blog? Ha!

HEY YOU! Happiest of Thursday's! Hope your week has been fantastic! Yes, mine has included beach time, SPF, and a whole lot of chilling. Hope you have been following along with me on my Instagram & Facebook stories. I will be doing a FULL blog post, here, in a few weeks BUT at least you can jump in on the fun right now.

In honor of being in the Caribbean, and doing a day trip to what I, believe, will be my new favorite place to travel, the spotlight on the classic margarita just seems FITTING. Isn't it funny how you associate cocktails with Caribbean music, white sand beaches, and turquoise water that you can see the bottom of for miles?

To be honest, I have not had a margarita yet because I am not sure there will be any establishments that can create one as good as Maximón! Maybe Atlas Restaurant Group needs to open up a place in St. Maarten OR St. Barths. THEN it would be complete! Image removed.

This is not the first time I have touted this amazing venue.  Seriously, it is my favorite place in Baltimore and the clients/friends that I have sent via my recommendation have come back with an "OMG, you were so right Janine!" Definitely make a trip ASAP! Looking forward to the warmer months when their bougie outdoor courtyard will be open!

Okay, back to the margarita. As you may know, I, generally, stick to 3 main "cocktails" - martinis, bubbly, and vino. I am not into "sweet" and so many cocktails are filled with a LOT of mixers and junk (in my opinion). At least we are there are more and more places that are making cocktails from absolute scratch...just like Maximon!

With 3 different options to choose from - smokey, spicy, and herbaceous - each cocktails is handcrafted with the highest quality of patrón single barrel reposado, patrón citronge, agave, lime, salt.

Maximon Margarita

Any guesses which one I decided to grab? I guess the title of this post kind of gave it away...LOL! Oh, wait, before I go, it is kind of cool the history behind the margarita (and one you can find right on the Maximon website).

The margarita (Spanish for “daisy”) is a variation on a popular American drink, the Daisy, remade with tequila instead of brandy. Tequila rose in popularity during Prohibition as people traveled over the border in search of spirits. The first mention of the drink was in 1936 in an Iowa newspaper article by James Graham, who found the drink in Tijuana.

See, kind of cool, huh? CHEERS to one more sleep until the weekend, and another fabulous week in paradise! Have an AMAZING rest of your week!

xoxo
