Why, Thursday, you are HERE and I am, currently, on the train headed to NYC for the day. I briefly shared, yesterday, that I am en route to the BIG APPLE to put together 7 days worth of content over the course of 10 hours. This includes 4 wardrobe changes and 8 venues for which to visit and capture the “Fit4Janine” magic. Needless to say, I am a little tired, exhausted, and STRESSED just thinking about it.
In chatting about NYC, Baltimore’s mini "Rockefeller Center," Harbor East, is what I am "tis'ing the season" with today on the blog. It's my kind of playground and, perhaps, my future neighborhood!
While I could give you the history behind the development of Harbor East – I figure you can take a peek at the link I provided – this is my go-to spot to work, play, eat, drink, and so much more! From fabulous shops, to "Top 10" restaurants in the U.S., to amazing hotels, residences, and nightlife, OMGOSH, I cannot tout this area enough! Did I mention I get my FIT on here too?!?!
Sitting on the edge of the Baltimore Waterfront, the establishments range from fun and trendy, to casual and high end. With the Four Seasons Hotel & Residences, and Marriott Waterfront anchoring the area, a plethora of clothing boutiques, upscale furniture stores, home décor, beauty, a bougie grocery store, fitness facilities, and, of course, RESTAURANTS, encompass this vibrant and evolving area.
And, speaking of restaurants, hats off to the Atlas Group, and Foreman/Wolf Group, who have transformed the Baltimore food scene. Because, in the words of Atlas Groups’ Founder/Owner, Alex Smith, #cityneedsit. Definitely take a peek at their story via the link I provided.
Additionally, the "newest" neighborhood to Harbor East, Harbor Point, is "keeping up with the Jones's" by offering their own set of food, shopping, and fitness, along with a NEW luxury hotel coming in 2020 and Sandlot, "a temporary beach oasis open during the summer. It's, here you’ll be transported to a tropical island with fruity drinks, live music, volleyball and bocce ball." Visit Baltimore
Holiday’s aside, this is where I go for pretty much everything. I wish there was a department store so I would never have to go to the mall (or just keep shopping online)! This time of year, though, the cobblestone streets, and brick lined promenade, just seem even more picturesque amongst twinkle lights & greenery, with pops of red & gold. Even the harbor is lit up with a "sea" of house boats that go all out for the season too! It really is quite spectacular. FYI: The best view is from the 29th Floor of the Four Seasons Hotel at "The Bygone" (link is below) - a 1920's inspired restaurant that is, well, putting on the ritz!
